THE HISTORY OF BLACKJACK

Online blackjack has a long history.

It is thought blackjack originates from a 17th Century French game called ‘Vingt Et Un’. The name of this title means ’21’ and the rules of ‘Vingt Et Un’ bear a striking resemblance to those used today in online blackjack. A game called Seven and a Half also existed during this century. Players received valued cards in this Italian game in an attempt to obtain a score of seven and a half. They lost if dealt a card which took them over this score. The rules of this game are similar to those of other blackjack titles throughout history.
